Jim Henson’s childhood friend and the original inspiration for Kermit the Frog, passed away on May 26, 2008 at the age of 71. A professor, he taught philosophy at Yale, Millsaps College and Purdue for most of his life. (His real first name was Theodore, but went by Kermit as he was a ‘jr.’ and his father was Theodore.)
